Lomax is an unincorporated village in Lomax Township.

It has the distinction of having more railroads than any other town in the county.

The Burlington Route and Sante Fe Railroads both pass through it and the Toledo, Peoria & Western comes within a mile of it.

It has never attained sufficient population to justify its incorporation.

It has two grain elevators and does a large business as a shipping point.
