Meet Your Neighbor, Georgia Cox born in Kahoka, Missouri.
Georgia was born on May l4, l934 and moved to Illinois at the age of two.
She and her family moved to the Basco area where her older brother and sister went to school with Mildred and Ruby Bavery. Later they moved to Carthage where Georgia started grade school.
When she was in 6th grade they moved to Colchester and later after moving to the Fountain Green area Georgia then graduated from La Harpe High school. She also worked at the La Harpe Hospital during her high school years.
In l952 she married Robert Link and they raised six children. Susie Schmidt, Eldridge, IA, Mark of Brinfield, Daniel, La Harpe, Lila McKeown, Ft. Green, Brenda Peterburs, Chatham, and Tracy McDowell, La Harpe. Robert Link passed away in l975.
In l976 Georgia married Benny Cox and later they moved to Cape Coral, Florida, where they spent 14 1/2 years and Georgia worked as housekeeper for a Detox Center for drug and alcohol abuse for 6 1/2 years.
The couple came back to the La Harpe area in l998 and Georgia then retired. She now enjoys going to her grand kids ball games, watching movies and reading good books.
Georgia also is a member of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary of La Harpe. She and her husband attend the Christian Church of La Harpe.
