Water Hike Under Review

The Biggsville Board met in regular session January 4 with President Janet Monville presiding and Trustees Dale Allenbaugh, Marilyn Evans, Gloria Minard, Bob Onion, Treasurer Gloria Jones and Clerk Frank Jones present along with visitor Don Burns. Absent were Trustees Jack Brokaw and Brian Sterett.

Allenbaugh expressed the need to increase the water rates. The water committee is to review it for the next meeting. Bills totaling $6,058.60 were read and approved for payment.

Don Burns of Rural Development was present explaining what is needed for the water project. 1) The Village needs an engineering agreement with Missman Stanley and Associates, P.C., 2) Preliminary project estimate.

President Janet Monville read a letter from the Department of Commercial Economic Opportunity (DCEO) outlining water projects funds. The amount remaining is $171,589.05. This will be used for design engineering, valves and water meters for the hook up to Dallas Rural Water.

Marilyn Evans said that the night light at the lagoon is still not fixed. Christmas decoration contest winners for 2005 are were:

President Janet Monville reported on the housing project.

Four residents in the target area have been selected for repairs.

President Janet Monville read Ordinance #438, Fair Housing Ordinance all voted yes.

The next meeting will be February 1, at 7 p.m. at the Biggsville Community Building. The meeting adjourned at 8:22 p.m.
