Meet "Barbie" Lathrop who lives east of Oquawka. She is a UHS "71 graduate growing up in Henderson County, the daughter of Olive and Clyde Bailey. In 1974 she married her husband Darrell who is a brakeman-conductor for Burlington Santa Fe Railroad 30 plus years.
They have a married daughter Michele Hallgren, a certified teacher who substitutes in Burlington, IA with husband Chad who works as a service technician in his parents Heating/ A.C. business. Barb also has a son Michael who went into the Marines after graduating from Union. He lives in San Diego, CA with wife Tania and their baby Moria who will be one the 17th. Michael has been working as a loan officer at JP Morgan & Chase.
Barbie worked for the late Dr. Good 10 years and is receptionist for Good Dental Care. She loves to walk with her husband, read, sing, play the piano, help at Harmony Bible Church with jr. high youth and mothers of preschoolers, and visiting family.
She enjoys her two pets, a dog "Baylor" and a cat "Ali-cat-kitty."
