FFA Fruits Is In - In Time

The La Harpe FFA Chapter has just finished their fruit and meat sales with a very successful year, selling well over 300 items by 39 ambitious students who participated.

"The students worked very hard on selling fruit and meat, and on promoting our program," said Mel Roth, La Harpe Ag Adviser.

"We appreciated R&D Foods of La Harpe for allowing us to use their roller cart to unload the semi. It was a lot of help.

"We also appreciated the many students who helped unload the semi & sort the items and for the time spent working for this fund raising event.

"Most importantly, the community has been outstanding giving us their support throughout all these years."

Roth said the La Harpe FFA Chapter is planning to use the money they have made from their fund-raising event to send several FFA students to the Made-For-Excellence Conference as well as other leadership conferences.

"We will also be celebrating their success with a pizza party where together, we will begin to plan our annual Barnyard Expo (petting zoo) we hold annually for the elementary students," Roth said.

"If anyone has comments about the fruit, please be sure to call the High School Ag Shop. We look forward to working closely with the community as we transition into the next year's school and continue this worthwhile program of FFA and Agriculture," Roth said.
