Meet Your Neighbors Chris and Valerie VanFleet and their twins Korey and Katlyn, age 6 (in Sept.) They have made their home on the east end of town in La Harpe. Chris graduated from La Harpe High School were he was also active in football and FFA. Valerie is a high school graduate from Warsaw where she was an active member of band, softball, and basketball. After high school Chris went to work for Blythe Enterprise. He later worked for Methode in Carthage for 4 years and then for Terry Ferguson for one year and then on to Sheetz Family Farm just outside of Niota where he is still employed. Valerie has worked in area grocery stores since high school. She now works at R & D Food and is also a teacher's aid at La Harpe. Chris was working at Methode with Valerie's uncle who thought they should meet. So he set them up on a blind date and they sooon were married on May 9, 1998. When they can find time after going to all of their children's events they enjoy getting together with friends to play cards. Valerie also enjoys bowling and baking. She likes to travel and would like to travel to Florida someday. Chris likes to go hunting and would like to go elk hunting. He is also good at carpentry and has built a very nice play house for his daughter. |
