In 1856 both "Cumberland and "Associate Reformed" Presbyterian congregations in Oquawka were worshiping in halls; no churches were erected by them.
The United Presbyterian Church had organized in 1854 and erected a building which was destroyed by a storm in 1865; it was never rebuilt and eventually the congregation dissolved.
