CIVIL COURT CASES:

In the early 1880's William McMillan died in Biggsville Township leaving a will. He had no children and left his property to seven relatives in equal shares.

Some of heirs objected and contested the will on the grounds that Mr. McMillan was not mentally fit.

Witnesses were produced on both sides and the jury decided to set aside the will.

The executor was not happy and appealed the case to the Appellate Court who affirmed the lower court decision.

Onward to the Supreme Court found the verdict reversed sustaining the will. People locally had taken sides so hard feeling existed for many years.
