2005 CHRISTMAS

by Dessa Rodeffer, Quill Publisher

16 November 2005

This Friday the 18th, Stronghurst will be full of hustle and bustle as it holds it's annual Old Fashioned Christmas Holiday Walk.

The event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. and already people are talking about the fun they will have.

Some church members were busy putting up Christmas trees for the "Hall of Trees" and I heard another mention the Red Hat ladies were going in to fix up a tree that I can't wait to see.

Last year, there were a lot of positive comments of how people really enjoyed the evening. The streets were full of activity with music, singing, neighbors and families relaxing in the spirit of the holidays.

We at The Quill will be hosting Mrs. Marilyn Champaigne of Burlington, Iowa, and her puppets at the Senior Citizens Center. I hope you can stop in and hear this amazing retired teacher.

This is a good time to prepare for the 2005 Christmas book that we publish and send out each year to our subscribers.

This year we are going to feature "The Children Of Christmas" as our book which will include any childhood memories we might have, including memories of special people at Christmas.

I hope you will take time to recall an old fashioned holiday from your past and share it with our readers,

If you have pictures and stories you can bring them in to the Senior Center on Friday evening so we can get busy with preparing our Holiday book.

Recipes, are always welcome along with any of your favorite Christmas ideas that you had fun doing as a child.

The deadline for this year's Christmas book is Thursday, November 28th. We look forward to your contributions.
