The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
by Dessa Rodeffer Quill Publisher/Owner
We have heard nothing but good news since school opened its doors at West Central on Friday.
Consolidation has its challenges, but it seems to have lots of rewards for the children.
Kids and teachers are working together well and several children have commented to me that they have new friends, the school at the Junior High looks totally different and they are enjoying school.
It seems the football and baseball at the Jr. High are doing well and the school open house tonight should be a nice treat for families and community.
The Open House time tonight is from 6-8 p.m. A good opportunity to see how the Stronghurst remodeling is going and what's new at the high school.
I wish to commend the board for all their hard work to get to this point and all the teachers who had to move and organize in preparation for as smooth a transition as possible. It's great to see all angles come together in such a positive way, including sports, booster clubs, and academics. It all helps in making everyone of us in the community feel at home at West Central. All graduates from Henderson County, can now claim a part of this school.
