Plenty To Do This Weekend

Just a reminder that there will be plenty to do this weekend to keep us entertained.

The annual Gladstone Homecoming is going on now through the weekend which includes a carnival. A parade will be on Saturday.

The 7th Annual Fred Gibb Memorial Car Show will be Saturday in La Harpe and has grown to 41 classes and more than 400 entries!

Huge Cruise Nights are scheduled for Friday beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Monmouth and in Macomb. In Monmouth they will gather around the square, and in Macomb they will gather at Western Illinois University near the football field. After the car show on Saturday, participants will cruise together to Macomb and park around the square for an evening of music, food, and visiting. Everyone is welcome to come and visit and see the cars. I am anxious not only to see the Gibb muscle cars again and their owners, but also one of Dale Earnhardt Jr's #8 stock cars brought in by Matt Murphy, of GMMG Inc., Atlanta, Georgia which is a thrill to hear as well as see. Then, on the 10th, La Harpe Summerfest begins with lots of fun planned.
