It was a joy to see the cooperative effort of West Central folks Friday night as they held a wonderful kick-off party for Community Unit School District #235.
It gave everyone the opportunity to feel appreciated for whatever small or large part they may have played in bringing the two schools into a strong unified educational program.
It was especially nice to see the teachers and staff of this district and introduction of their positions at West Central.
It was also good to see the balance between education, athletics and the arts, and to hear school board president Lonnie Brent and Superintendent Ralph Grimm vow to produce an educational facility that will be known as the lighthouse of education in West Central Illinois.
The fireworks celebrating the first official day let everyone know- The Heat Is On!
