Music Softens Our Hearts

As I placed the notice of Leo Ramer's Ecumenical Singers Valentine Concert to be held this Sunday, I recalled the wonderful concert that his group put on several years ago for Valentines Day.

It was wonderful to hear the soft romantic and also the funny songs of olden times performed by area students and adults.

It is a perfect way to spend an evening with your valentine. I must say that Leo Ramer, who has remained single all of these years, is quite the romantic musician himself.

He has been single all these years devoting his time to his music and his students and I guess was waiting for the perfect moment to ask his accompanist to marry him. He found it and it is one that is hard to top in my estimation.

As he and the Ecumenical singers toured Hawaii this past summer, Leo popped the question and gave his love a diamond on top of Diamond Head near Waikiki Beach. He had the perfect backdrop and the perfect choir in the perfect place. She had to say "yes"! It is a June wedding, of course, with the reception at The Peoria Civic Center.

You better plan a trip to Monmouth College this Sunday, and see what he has up his sleeve for your valentine. The concert is at the Dahl Chapel/Auditorium at 4:30 p.m.
